Neighbors helping neighbors is a huge part of what Forest Commons is all about. Providing each other with “Short Term Assistance” is a wonderful way to get to know each other better and build our sense of community. We have a coordinator who matches volunteers with those requesting assistance without charge. From folks living by themselves to members of busy families, we all could use some extra help from time to time. While some already use the Forest Park email group for information and neighborly contact, others may wish to make requests in a more confidential manner through a coordinator. Volunteering through the coordinator can also help prevent volunteer burn-out. Whatever your situation, please consider requesting to receive and volunteering to offer short term assistance through Forest Commons.
Would you like to volunteer to provide short term assistance to a neighbor in Forest Park? Would you like to request simple short term assistance from a neighborhood volunteer free of charge? Please call our new Google phone numbers at 919-346-4992 (Marty Lamb) and 919-960-1496 (Marianne Wason).
